Matthew R. Farris
Matthew R. Farris has worked in the real estate industry since 2001. He has completed over 1 billion in transactions consisting of most asset classes, including master planned/mixed-use developments, multifamily, medical office, hotel, retail, self-storage and land transactions.
During his career, Mr. Farris has participated in the formation and execution of private limited liability companies, limited partnerships, Delaware Statutory Trusts, tenant-in-common programs, 1031 exchanges and other real estate investment structures and strategies. He has also directed the acquisition, entitlement, management, development and/or disposition activities of various real estate projects. Mr. Farris has syndicated real estate transactions utilizing Regulation D safe harbor provisions for private placements by and among sponsors and investors in the acquisition and development of commercial real estate.
Mr. Farris has owned and operated brokerages and title companies closing over 10,000 transactions involving all types of transactions, including lenders’ dispositions of their REO properties, refinance and purchase transactions consisting of both residential and commercial. Mr. Farris has been an investor in, and advised clients on, the acquisition of loan portfolios and real estate, including the performance of extensive due diligence, and consequently, understands how to market real estate assets.
Mr. Farris began his career with one of the largest international law firms in the nation where he represented financial institutions in real estate lending, debt collection and foreclosure matters. He went on to work for a real estate boutique law firm specializing in the representation of national homebuilders and real estate developers. In January 2004, Mr. Farris founded Farris Law Group, PLLC where he continued his real estate practice with the representation of financial institutions, real estate developers, homebuilders and investors in the acquisition, financing, development and disposition of real estate.
Mr. Farris received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance from Texas Christian University. Mr. Farris holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Baylor University School of Law.
